Responsibility

It was a vision to establish a centre of professional learning where pursuit of knowledge and excellence was not to be barred by nationality, language, cultural plurality and religion that drove the founders of Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College (JGEC) to establish a world class centre of technical excellence. Established in 1961, JGEC is the second oldest of all technical institutions in the state of West Bengal, India. From the time of its inception, JGEC has gone from strength to strength providing essential manpower to harness the flood of opportunities in the fields of engineering and technology in the country and beyond.

The Alumni Association works closely with the institution to involve ex-students and present students through various activities.

JGEC has a number of alumni chapters around the globe.

The JGEC Alumni Association provides opportunities to:

Promote JGEC pride and tradition at campus and across the globe

Promote relationships between alumni, students and administration

Enhance the college experience through fun, memorable events and value addition

SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM - 2024

Our Respected Alumnus and their Respected Family Members have come forward to stay beside our brothers and sisters by using the platform created by Alumni Association.

The unique and innovative online Scholarship Program is part of Bridging the Gap initiative created by Alumni Association, which was showcased by our beloved institute during NAAC Audit process (which is documented under the NAAC tab of JGEC official website). The 1:1 interview process is part of the students counselling and knowledge sharing process where our Respected Alumnus and Sponsors used to share their vast experiences with engineering students.

1. Total no. of Scholarship Schemes: 31

2. No. of students to benefitted through the Scholarship Program: 56

3. Total Scholarship Amount: Approximately Rs.10,00,000/- (Rs. Ten Lacs only)

 

Schedule for the Scholarship Program 2024 [For reference]. 

1) Opening date of application by students of JGEC: 1st June, 2024

2) Last date of application by students of JGEC: 23rd June, 2024

3) Selection of top three candidates by sponsors: 7th July, 2024

4) Interview of top 3 candidates (optional) by sponsors: 3rd August, 2024

5) Scholarship Award Day: 4th August, 2024 (Sunday).

 

Note: All applications will be considered for 2024 -' 25 academic year only.
